Sod Turning Event
Sod Turning Event November 19, 2012

November 19, 2012 local dignitaries, members and staff attended the official sod turning at the site where Prairie Mountain Credit Union Ltd. will be constructing their new building.
General Manager Armin Glas cited to the crowd that 70 years ago, individuals of the community had a vision to start a credit union. Today Prairie Mountain Credit Union Ltd. has over 2400 members with assets exceeding $50,000,000.00.
It is also fitting that this take place in 2012 in which Manitoba Credit Unions and Cooperatives alike celebrate 75 years in Manitoba. It is a testament to the spirit of cooperative movement and the forward thinking of community members who wanted to help others and improve their communities.

Official sod turners are President Alfred Bretecher (right) and director Bernard Plessis (left). Representatives from the town and RM of Ste Rose du Lac wished the credit union well during their construction and continued success for the future.
